Course Registration Exception for Foreign Students

Exception to taking Liberal Art Courses (for Enroller with Special Enrollment Admission type for Foreigners whose parents are both foreigners)

The table below mainly describes the exceptions in regard to Liberal Art Courses
Enroller with Special Enrollment Admission type for Foreigners whose parents are both foreigners
Admission Year Topic Description
2020~ (2024~ ) Core Courses It will be recognized as completion of Core Courses for undergraduate international students* if they take courses stated below:
  • - Credits Required: Regardless of fields, student can take courses stated above to fulfill the total Core Course credits assigned by her college as shown in the table above.
  • - Courses to choose : All Core Courses

Enroller with Special Enrollment Admission type for Foreigners whose parents are both foreigners

(2020~2023)Convergence General courses It will be recognized as completion of Convergence General courses for undergraduate international students if they take courses stated below:
  • 1. Credits Required: Regardless of fields, student can take courses stated below to fulfill the total Convergence General Course) credits assigned by her college.
2. Courses options: All Convergence General courses (either courses conducted in English or Korean)
Korean Language Proficiency Test standard (TOPIK) as a graduation requirement ALL international undergraduates must submit TOPIK level 4 scores before graduation.
  • (Exception: Students from the Division of International Studies)
2016 ~ 2019 Exemption from Second Foreign Language For all undergraduate majors, international students are exempted from any second foreign language requirement. For majors that require students to take either Second Foreign language or Advanced English, international Students are exempt from both. In case of College of Science & Industry Convergence that require students to take either Second Foreign language, Advanced English or Global Business Communication, international Students are exempt from all of the 3 courses mentioned previously.

  • 1. Credits Required: Regardless of fields, student can take courses stated below to fulfill the total Convergence General Course) credits assigned by her college.
  • 2. Courses options:
    • A) All Convergence General courses (either courses conducted in English or Korean)
    • B) Future Planning courses offered by Department of Korean Studies (Graduate School of International Studies) that are conducted in English (excluding Online course)

1. Procedure of Leave of Absence

Online application via EUREKA→Academic affairs→School registry→Leave of absence request→Print application form→Visit Office of International Student Affairs(ECC B329) and submit application form→Office of International Student Affairs confirms submission.

Submit the application form to Office on International Student Affairs to finalize the leave of absence.

2. Procedure of Voluntary Withdrawal

Online application via EUREKA→Academic affairs→School registry→Apply for Voluntary Withdrawal→Print out voluntary withdrawal form→Approval by academic advisor and guardian→Visit Office of International Student Affairs(ECC B329)→Submit voluntary withdrawal form to the Registrar’s Officer(Pfeiffer Hall 108).

Submit the application to the Registrar’s Office to finalize the voluntary withdrawal. Make sure to bring your student ID card and Passport.
