Students in Dance Department Became Members of Prominent Dance and Ballet Companies

Seungyeon Lee and Songhui Seo became the members of the National Dance Company of Korea.
Nayeon Kim and Seungmin Yu became members of the Universal Ballet.
Students in the Dance Department have become members of the National Dance Company of Korea and the Universal Ballet, showing their outstanding capacities as dancers.

Seungyeon Lee became a regular member of the National Dance Company of Korea. The National Dance Company of Korea, established in 1962, is an organization under the National Theater of Korea that has been introducing works rooted in traditional Korean dancing with performances by accomplished dancers. Many dancers applied for the open-competitive recruitment for the company, for it was the first such recruitment in seven years since 2016. Seungyeon Lee, who passed the recruiting audition as a 22-year-old senior student, became the youngest member. The news is meaningful, given that Ewha alumnae became members of the National Dance Company of Korea for the first time in thirty years. Songhui Seo also became a semi-regular member of the National Dance Company of Korea.
Nayeon Kim and Seungmin Yu became the guest members of the Universal Ballet. Universal Ballet is Korea’s first professional ballet company. Established in 1984, the company has showcased 1,800 performances in 17 countries across the globe and become one of the most renowned ballet companies in Korea.
The students said that they are so honored to become members of such prominent dance companies even before graduation, and they wish to meet more Ewha alumnae in the dance scene.
