Bomi Lee and Jae-eun Jeong, Ph.D. students at the Child Development & Intervention Department, won the Grand Prize from the 2023 Regional SITE Mini I-Corps Program in Greater Seoul and became the PULSE Step-by-step MVP Development Support Project fellows.

The 2023 Regional SITE Mini I-Corps Program in Greater Seoul is an entrepreneurial course program (a prerequisite program of the Korean I-Corps course program), which was hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Commercialization Promotion Agency for R&D Outcomes and organized by Ewha Womans University, Sungkyunkwan University, Chung-Ang University, and Tech University of Korea. The participants in this program identified their potential customers for the feasibility assessment of their business ideas to make them more viable in the market through interviews.

Bomi Lee and Jae-eun Jeong also became the fellow of PULSE Step-by-step MVP Development Support Project, which was hosted by the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Science and ICT, National Research Foundation of Korea, and Commercialization Promotion Agency for R&D Outcomes and organized by Chung-Ang University, Ewha Womans University, Tech University of Korea, and PULSE Consortium. This project supports prospective entrepreneurs’ MVP production, which allows fellows to assess their prototypes, analyze test customer feedback, revise their products, and showcase their final minimal viable products. Lee and Jeong have completed the first phase of their app development with support from this project.

Bomi Lee and Jae-eun Jeong have conducted various research projects with their adviser, Professor Nana Shin, to motivate children to develop good habits. Their research paved the way for starting a business, along with their insights from the 2023 Regional SITE Mini I-Corps Program in Greater Seoul and the MVP made by the support of the PULSE Step-by-step MVP Development Support Project. Lee and Jeong said that they will participate in the Korean I-Corps program of the Market Research Support for Public Technology-based Entrepreneurs Project, a support project for the education and facilitation of lab startups, and the Pre-startup Package Program by the Korea Institute of Startup & Entrepreneurship Development.

“We will strive to be curious and challenging entrepreneurs who put their insights to good use for society,” said Jae-eun Jeong.
