Center for Excellence in Teaching & Learning Opens an Awards Ceremony for THE BEST Generative AI Usage Contest

On June 22nd, the Center for Excellence in Teaching & Learning opened an awards ceremony for ‘THE BEST Generative AI Usage Contest’ at the Ewha·SK Telecom Convention Hall. The contest was for the purpose of finding and sharing ways to efficiently use newly released generative AI, such as ChatGPT and DALL·E 2, in school lessons. A total of 23 registered student teams(34 people) submitted videos of ways to use generative AI, and 1 team for grand prize, 2 teams for excellence prize, 3 teams for encouragement prize were picked after evaluation. The grand prize winners were Eunhye Kim and Seungyeon Lee majoring in Korean Language & Literature, and their topic was ‘The know-how of using ChatGPT: focusing on Korean Language & Literature and Business Administration lessons.’ It was about their experience on using ChatGPT in Korean Language & Literature creativity lessons and Business Administration marketing lessons, and they shared know-hows on how to use AI chatbots.

  

The excellence prize winners were the following two teams. First, Jiyoon Kim, Seeun Kim, and Seyoung Jang majoring in Computer Engineering, had the topic of ‘WuriDuri, a service made by using generative AI’ and introduced a way to use generative AI to make faitytales. Second, Sunmin Lee majoring in Environmental Science and Engineering, had the topic of ‘A non-major developing an AI project’ and showed the possibility of non-major students making AI model codes with no difficulty.

  

The encouragement prizes were the following three teams. First, ‘Pathfinder: How to Use ChatGPT 3.5’ made by Computer Engineering students, Jiyoung Yoo and Jiho Park, introduced a way to effectively use ChatGPT in preparing for projects and exams along with the limitations and cautions of ChatGPT. Second, ‘Doing projects with AI beot’ made by Yeonjoo Kim majoring in Business Administration, examined the strengths and limitations of ChatGPT in the light of efficiency, accuracy, and creativity. Lastly, ‘Living a smart university life using ChatGPT’ made by Business Administration students Yoonseo Bae and Haemin Jung, suggested a way to maximize the usage of generative AI by utilizing various extensive programs. It also suggested moral issues that comes up with the expansion of generative AI technology.

  

The winning works are planned to reach more Ewha people through the Center for Excellence in Teaching & Learning’s THE BEST homepage, which is being planned to open.
