Professor Kyungshik Shin of Business Administration Department at Business College Wins the 6th Award for Excellence

 Kyungshik Shin, a business administration professor at business school, won the "Outstanding Management Scholar Award" in Korean Business Association Awards held at Sungkyunkwan University on February 21st (Friday).


 Established in 1956, the Korean Business Association is the largest business administration academy in Korea. It comprehensively reviews research achievements and contributions to the association among Korean business administration scholars every year and awards Outstanding Management Scholar Award. The Outstanding Management Scholar Award is an academic award that awards scholars who have contributed to enhancing their status in business administration through outstanding research achievements and academic service. It has produced winners every year since its first ceremony in 2014.


 Professor Kyungshik Shin was named the sixth winner in recognition of his outstanding research achievements and academic contributions.

Professor Shin has earned a doctorate in business engineering from KAIST and served as a visiting professor at Harvard University, National University of Singapore and University of Hong Kong. He currently serves as a professor of business administration at Ewha, as well as a head of the Graduate School's Big Data Analytics Cooperative Course and a head of Management Research Center. His major research areas include big data analytics for business, data mining and artificial intelligence application, and a number of related papers were published in Korea and abroad. He also carried out industrial enterprise projects related to big data analytics and modeling. Since 2016, he has developed and operated the "World of Big Data, Principles and Applications" course through K-MOOC, and it was selected as the "Most-Taken Course of K-MOOC" in 2018. He won a commendation from the Ministry of Education for the professorship of K-MOOC's outstanding support personnel.
