Ewha 'New Year's Greeting Ceremony' Held

Ewha held the 'New Year's Greeting Ceremony' on January 3rd and took its first step in 2011. The ceremony was held at the Lee San-Bong Hall, ECC to let more faculty and staffs gather and exchange the joy of welcoming the new year.




Cho Kyung-Won, the vice president of Office of General Administration presided at the ceremony. The University Chaplain Sohn Woon-San led the initiating prayer. Ewha's Chairperson, Dr. Yoon Hoo-Jung and Ewha Womans University President Kim Sun-Wook delivered the celebrating speech to all the attendees.


The Chairperson, Yoon Hoo-Jung said. "Ewha, born in 19th century, fought against the imperialism in the midst of colonial period and has played the role of the flag bearer of this country. Ewha should continue to play the invaluable role and devote to the society in academic, social, and universal aspects."


"The year 2011 is a very important year as it is the 125th year since Ewha's foundation. I would like to ask for all of your cooperation and active support to stimulate our students as they take on new challenges. I hope that Ewha becomes a cheerful work place for research and education for faculty, and an enthusiastic school that enables campus life full of potentials for students," said President Kim Sun-Wook in the following speech.


In the reception after the ceremony, president Kim met with every single person in the ceremony including Ewha Alumni Association, the presidents of Ewha Affiliated Hospital and Schools, the students from the student council, Ewha media center, Ewha Campus Leader, and Ewha Today.
