Ewha's Global Programs for Fruitful Winter Vacation

Ewha provides various winter programs that will help students experience the global world. The programs are composed of various activities abroad.

The 'Faculty-Led Study Abroad Program' is an in-depth academic activity that aims to learn and experience certain subjects about the country the team is visiting. A professor leads a group of about ten students and holds seminars with the local prominent scholars for a couple of weeks during summer and winter vacations. Ewha sent 149 students in 2008, 264 students in 2009 and is sending twelve teams, a total of 216 students this year. This year's teams will have various programs in the countries around the world including England, the U.S., China, and Japan.

The 'EGI' Program, also known as the 'Ewha Global Initiative Scholarship Program' is making its sixth departure this winter. The purpose of this program is to systematically sponsor the next global leaders to develop a sense of global competitiveness. Following Europe and North America the previous years, 36 Ewha students leave for Japan for 14 days this winter. They will travel around the country and visit prestigious universities and government organizations to write reports.

Lastly, the 'Ewha Volunteer Group' will carry out volunteer activities in various places in and out of Korea in January. The 'Ewha Volunteer Group' will be volunteering in places abroad like Ho Chi Minh of Vietnam, and New Deli in India. The volunteering activities include education, medical support, and exchange with the local universities.

Other than this, the Ewha Career Development Center is holding the 'International Internship Program' that will enable students to build careers and the experiences abroad as well as to have their credits counted through the programs such as WEST(Work, English Study, and Travel) and TWC(The Washington Center).
