Ewha Signs MOU for Exclusive Cooperation with French National Broadcasting System TV5 Monde
Ewha and TV5 Monde Sa, a public international broadcasting station of France has exchanged MOU(Memorandum of Understanding) on November 19 at Main Hall. The MOU was for mutual cooperation in providing exclusive translation service for Korean caption and establishing industry-university collaboration system for media and broadcasting
Thus, Ewha and TV5 will be cooperating in various aspects of the broad casting business area. Ewha will be providing exclusive translation service on the web page and French education TV programs for TV5 and exchange information on the media·TV·movie industry as well as the French education field.
The discussion on the MOU commenced from the TV5's propose to the Ewha Graduate School of Translation and Interpretation(GSTI) for long term cooperation in providing translation of high standard for programs. Ewha was appointed as the proper partner for exclusive translation service.
"I believe that this MOU with Ewha will contribute to the increase of exchange between France and Korea", said Marie-Christine Saragosse, the chairwoman of TV5 said.
Ewha has a long tradition of nurturing talents in French Language establishing French major in 1954. Ewha also opens the French-Korean Translation and Interpretation major in Graduate School of Interpretation and Translation and contributed to intellectual and cultural exchange between France and Korea.
