Students at the Department of Social Studies Education Were Selected for the 2022 Special Graduate School of Spatial Data Convergence Scholarship

The Ph.D students (Kim Ji-yeon, Jung Ye-seul) and Master’s students (Kim Se-yeon, Lee Do-hyun, Jo Ju-yeon) majoring in Geography Education at Dept. of Social Studies Education were selected for the 2022 Special Graduate School of Spatial Data Convergence Scholarship on August 24 (Thu).
The Geography Education major at Dept. of Social Studies Education of Ewha Womans University was selected as Special Graduate School of Spatial Data in 2014. This program is supported by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport to cultivate key talents needed for the spatial data convergence industry, and 11 graduate schools in Korea have been selected. In the department selected as Special Graduate School, students who submit research plans are given a chance to be selected for the full scholarship of three years for Ph.D. and two years for master's courses.
Kim Ji-yeon submitted the research plan on “Evaluation of Pedestrian Environment for Major Travel Paths Using Multi-Channel Data and Deep Learning,” Jeong Ye-seul on “A Study on the Response to the Decline of Rural Area in Korea by Establishing a Regional Activity Model for Migrant Population,” Kim Se-yeon on "Development and Application of Geographic Exploration Class Using Spatial Information Technology: Focusing on Public Big Data," and Lee Do-hyun, “An Analysis of Abnormal Behavior Detection and Regional Safety in CCTV Images Using Deep Learning Technology,” Jo Ju-yeon on “Classification and Prediction of Children Pedestrian Abnormal Behavior Based on Deep Learning: Focusing on Child Protective Areas.”
Since Ewha Womans University was selected as a Special Graduate School, 75% of applicants were selected for the scholarship in 2014 and 66% in 2015, and since 2016, all applicants have been selected for the scholarship.
