The Ewha Language Center(Director Professor Sang-geun Shin) held a "May Thankyou Note Day" event for 260 language education trainees who are taking Korean Language Intensive Program in the spring semester of 2021. The event, which was held on May 7(Friday) for students in level 1 through 6 of the Korean language intensive program, was held online in accordance with the government's social distancing guidelines under Covid-19.

On this day, foreign students who enrolled in the program learned the meaning of Parents' Day and Teacher's Day in Korea, and expressed their gratitude to those who were grateful for their Korean skills. Students took pictures of letters both written in Korean and their own native languages, then delivered them to their parents and teachers. They also drew or made carnations with the meaning of gratitude and respect.

Korean language classes are being held online to prevent the Covid-19 infection. Yet through this event, foreign students could have the opportunity to experience various activities and recall their passion for studying Korean.

Ewha Language Center, which began Korean language education as a foreign language in 1988, has been establishing a professional and systematic Korean language education system for more than 30 years. It operates a 10-week intensive Korean program for men and women from all over the world who want to learn Korean, and a three-week program for short-term trainees. The short-term program is operated seven times a year (February, March, April, July, August, September, and February next year).

The flagship program, "Intensive Program," is being taught online during the previous Spring Term of 2021 (March 12th to May 24th), and the 2021 Summer Term (June 17th to August 25th) is open to be registered until June 3rd (Thursday).
