Professor DaeHun Nyang(Cyber Security Department) Wins Minister’s Commendation from the Ministry of ICT

Last April 29th, Professor DaeHun Nyang from the Cyber Security Department was awarded with the Minister’s Commendation from the Ministry of Information, Communication and Technology at the Virtual Conference of ‘the 27th NetSec-KR’.
The NetSec-KR, hosted by the Korea Internet & Security Agency(KISA) and organized by Korea Institute of Information Security & Cryptology(KIISC), is Korea’s biggest Information Security Conference. This year’s agenda was ‘Present and Future of K-Cyber Security’.
At the event, award ceremonies were held for those of merit who contributed to the development of the information security academia and industry. Professor Nyang, who was awarded with Excellent Researcher Award as the Commendation of Minister of ICT, has been a professor at Ewha since 2020. He received B.Eng. degree from Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in computer science from Yonsei University, Korea in 1994, 1996, and 2000 respectively. He had been a senior researcher at Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute(ETRI), and a professor at Computer Science and Engineering Department of Inha University. Since 2020, he has been a professor at Cyber Security Department of ELTech Engineering College of Ewha Womans University. Professor Nyang is conducting research in security fields including AI security, Network security, System security, and CPS security. He is also publishing various papers in international jounrals such as <ACM CCS>, <IEEE INFOCOM/ICDCS>, <IEEE Transactions> and more.
